fabio di giannantonio

based on a true story

Yes, you can call me Diggia. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Rome, Italy, I've always been passionate about speed and competition. My journey into the world of motorcycle racing began at a young age, my story is one of passion, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of dreams.

This is who I am:

1998 - 2015

From minibikes to MotoGP dream

Fabio Di Giannantonio was born on 10 October 1998 in Rome. Thanks to the passion of his father Ivan, Fabio started racing in minibikes at the age of 6. In 2008 he clinched his maiden Italian and European minibike championship titles, both in the “junior” category, before moving to the MiniGP category where he raced for two years. In 2012, Fabio won the Italian title in the PreGP 250cc. One year after, he made his debut in the CIV Moto3 (Italian Speed Championship). In 2015, with plenty of podiums under the belt, he finishes the season as the runner up in the Red Bull Rookies Cup and of the CIV Moto3 (with a tally of four wins).

2016 - 2018

Moto3

It’s time for the world stage as Diggia enters in the Moto3 category with the Gresini Racing team in 2016. It’s an incredible journey already in his first season as regular rider: 3 podium finishes allow him to fight until the end for the rookie of the year title, and the following years in the quarter-liter category are even better: five podiums and P5 overall in 2017. His first 2 wins came in 2018, a season he finished as vice World Champion - enough to think bigger…

2018

Vice World Champion

In 2018, beating the competition and to everyone’s amazement, Diggia won five podiums and took home his first two victories. He ends the season as Vice World Champion.

2019

moto2

In 2019 Fabio steps up in the Moto2 category in style. In his first season he clinches the Rookie of the Year title, with two podiums and his firs pole position (at Misano). 2020 is another good year, the second with the SpeedUp team, with Fabio bringing home two more podiums at Catalunya and Aragòn GP.

2021

Back to Gresini

The 2021 it’s time for Diggia to be back to his motorcycle family. With Fausto Gresini, Diggia finally takes his first intermediate class win at Jerez in a season with 3 more podiums.

2022

motogp

The mission is completed in 2022. Fabio finally gets his dream MotoGP bike in his first official season as MotoGP rider. A season to learn of course with the best riders of the world, but also to take some satisfying results as the pole position in front of the home crowd at Mugello.

2023

FIRST motogp VICTORY

In Qatar, Fabio Di Giannantonio stunned the MotoGP world by clinching his first victory on the Lusail circuit. Racing under the bright floodlights, he harnessed every bit of skill and determination to outpace fierce rivals, marking a pivotal moment in his career and igniting a new era of ambition on the track.

2024

vr46

In 2024, Fabio Di Giannantonio joined the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, riding the Ducati Desmosedici GP24. He showcased consistent performance throughout the season, achieving two fourth-place finishes in Australia and Thailand. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury sustained during the Austrian Grand Prix required surgery, leading him to miss the final two races. Despite this setback, Fabio's resilience and determination were evident, setting a promising foundation for the upcoming 2025 season.

2025

upcoming season

In 2025, Fabio Di Giannantonio will continue with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, riding the latest Ducati Desmosedici GP25.
After signing a two-year contract directly with Ducati, he aims to challenge top riders like Marc Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia.
