Fabio di Giannantonio - From minibikes to MotoGP dream

Fabio Di Giannantonio was born on 10 October 1998 in Rome.
 
Thanks to the passion of his father (Ivan), Fabio started racing in minibikes when he was 6 years old. In 2008 he won both the first Italian minibike championship in the “junior” category and the European minibike championship in the “junior” category, then he moved on to the MiniGP category where he raced for two years.
Only a few years later, in 2012, he won the Italian title in the PreGP 250cc. The following year, in 2013, he made his debut in the CIV Moto3 (Italian Speed Championship).
In 2015, after having conquered many podiums, he graduated as vice-champion of the Red Bull Rookies Cup and of the CIV Moto3 (Italian Speed Championship) , conquering the top step of the podium four times.

2016

Moto3

In 2019 he moved to the Moto2 category where he won the Rookie of the Year title, ranking first among the rookies in the new category, obtaining two podiums and making the Pole Position at Misano.
In 2020 he continued his career with the SpeedUp team, winning two more podiums in the Catalunya and Aragòn GP.

2018

Vice Campione del Mondo.

In 2018, beating the competition and to everyone’s amazement, Diggia won five podiums and took home his first two victories. He ends the season as Vice World Champion.

2019

Moto2 Rookie of the Year!

In 2019 he moved to the Moto2 category where he won the Rookie of the Year title, ranking first among the rookies in the new category, obtaining two podiums and making the Pole Position at Misano.

2020

GP di Catalunya e Gp di Aragòn.

In 2021 he returned to the Gresini “family” with Kalex in Moto2, winning the Jerez GP and conquering two more podiums in the Qatar GP and the Austin GP which allow him, with his palmares, to gain a foothold in MotoGP in 2022.

2021

Ritorno in Gresini

Nel 2021 torna nella “famiglia” Gresini con la Kalex in Moto2 vincendo il GP di Jerez e ottenendo altri due podi nel GP del Qatar e nel GP di Austin che gli permettono, con il suo palmares, di conquistare un posto in MotoGP nel 2022.

2022

Traguardo in MotoGP

In 2022 he began his journey in MotoGP on the bike he has always loved since childhood, Ducati.
After a little period of settings, he wins his first points at the Le-Mans GP and then he signed the Pole Position at Mugello, in front of his audience!

Something you don’t know

In the minibike championships Fabio already had a nickname, but it wasn’t Diggia!
The first real nickname he had when he was still racing in the minibike and PreMoto3 championships was “Fabiokid”!
